E-Lok Adalat/VC Lok Adalat held at Srinagar, 1253 cases settled
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 22: The District Legal Services Authority on Saturday held first E-Lok Adalat / VC Lok Adalat under the Chairmanship of Pr.District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Mr. Abdul Rashid Malik, who inaugurated e- lok adalat at District & Subordinate Courts, Srinagar to amicably settle, with the consent of the parties, the cases through virtual mode and video conferencing amid the ongoing pandemic.
The DLSA Srinagar constituted eight benches of Judges at District & Subordinate Courts, Srinagar, to settle the cases and to take justice delivery to the doorsteps of litigants in view of covid-19 and safety of the health of judges, litigants and lawyers.
During the E-Lok Adalat cases pertaining to Criminal compoundable offences, Cases under Section 138 of NI Act, Money Recovery Cases, MACT Cases, Labour Dispute Cases, Electricity and Water Bills Cases (excluding non compoundable), Family Disputes, Traffic Challans, Maintenance Cases, Other Civil Cases (Rent, easmentary rights, injunction suits, specific performance suits) and Civil Disputes between Close Relatives were taken up.
A total number of 1675 Cases were taken up for their amicable settlement out of which 1253 Cases were settled. Beside this an amount of Rs.84, 95,000/-was awarded as compensation by MACT Srinagar and Rs.4, 21,369/-has been collected as settlement amount by different courts. Fine of Rs. 3, 96,400/-has been collected.
76 travelers among 610 news covid-19 case in J&K, tally 31981
Aug 22: Seventy-six travelers were among 610 new positive cases reported in last 24 hours in J&K, 118 of them from Jammu division and 492 from Kashmir Valley. The overall tally has reached 31981.
Giving district-wise break of the cases, official sources told GNS Srinagar reported 211 cases, Baramulla 20, Pulwama 42, Budgam 42, Anantnag 48, Kulgam 17, Shopian 5, Kupwara 27, Bandipora 46, Ganderbal 34, Jammu 66, Rajouri 4, Kathua 12, Udhampur 12, Samba 6, Doda 5, Poonch 6 and Reasi 7.
Moreover, 593 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 141 from Jammu Division and 452 from Kashmir Valley.
“People are informed that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 metre from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap & water and following good respiratory etiquettes & hygiene,” official said.
As a measure for social distancing in public places wearing a face cover is compulsory and it is necessary for each and every individual.

Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri raise different issue before principal secretary among them the most prominent and important grievance was construction of Gujjar Hostel for Uri and Boniyar tehsils , leader while talking to principal secretary discussed the plight n hardships faced by ST students of URI constituency while seeking education , Principal secretary on spot instruct Director tribal Affairs to write a letter to concerned DC for verifying a suitable site for the construction of Gujjar Hostel and assured leader that within few weeks we will have approved Hostel for the area , Dr Sajjad Shafi thanked him for acting so swiftly
